Kings defeated the Sharks tonight with final score 4-1...and tie Vegas for first place in the Pacific!

Oilers lost to the Canucks 3-2. Edmonton seemed to spend most of the night on the penalty kill and that cost them this game, in my opinion. That comes down to discipline. You can't always blame the ref.

Meh. Not one of the night's better outings for our teams. At least the Pens got a shut out, so it wasn't a total wash.

Oh good god! Hopefully most of that was just his mouthguard shattering. Which, still, not pleasant, but, holy hell.

Oilers drop a game to the Jets 5-2. This is not a great start for the Oilers and I'm putting a lot of it on Cam Talbot's shoulders. He got pulled from the last game and the shots were nearly even between the two teams last night and he let in 4 to their 2. He's not been playing to the standard he could be and it's costing his team. McDavid alone doesn't make a team and they will not see the playoffs if Cam Talbot doesn't get things under control between the pipes.

Isles lost in OT in an early game.

So far this season is playing out like it's straight out of the Twilight Zone. New Jersey, who were in the bottom of the Eastern conference last year, are undefeated; Vegas, the new team in the league, are the lone, undefeated team in the West; Pittsburgh, the Stanley Cup champions, are middling about; Edmonton and the Sharks, who were battling for 1st in the Pacific Division last year, are both off to poor starts; and Detroit and Toronto are both running roughshod over the Atlantic Division while the Rangers, Bruins and Habs can't seem to buy a win. What a bizarre start to the season. I love it. Well, outside of the Blue and Orange doing poorly.
