Finding Indy Wrestling

Post by meta » Sat Sep 20, 2014 6:43 pm

Anyone know of some kind of resource for finding indy shows in a particular area? Living near Atlanta, I'd figure there'd be wrestling abound, but so far, my google-fu is coming up with nothing.

Well it was XWA but it went out of busniess because main guy ryan heath wanted to do
university school type work.

Now theres Vision Pro Wrestling in St. John hasnt come to Freddy yet but I like the sounds
of it and has the same butch of indy dudes of the maritimes and its new.

I use to like ROH one time back in 2005 now i feel imbarassed that I did.

Some day, I'm going to watch some of those ROH early years. I haven't seen anything from that company prior to this decade. I'd like to see if it's always been over-hyped crap, or if that's just recent years.

For the better part of the last decade it's been overhyped to the moon. In its earliest going off, back when the Pure title was still a thing it was a whole different atmosphere to the shows.

Yeah, that's the stuff I'd like to check out. Samoa Joe's big title reign, and the rise of Bryan Danielson. I want to see how much truth there is to the myth.

Check out Jamie Noble's work (under his real surname Gibson) from back then, I think the man did some of the best work in has career between RoH's ropes.

That would be in there, yes. That's a project that will have to wait. NJPW World is taking up my free wrestling time, as I watch their available archives from the 70s, largely featuring Antonio Inoki.

Saw him face Andre the Giant down in Sao Paulo, Brazil, from Dec 1974. I'd never seen Andre as a young man, and boy was he different. Dude could MOVE.

He was quite agile for his size back then. Andre in the 80's and Andre in the 70's are practically two different workers entirely.

As is often the case with anybody, regardless of size, when comparing them in their late 20s to their late 30s.
