I get the tag title thing with Guns & Gallows against Goto & Shibata, but then, don't fucking tease Okada/Shibata after the Goto match at New Beginning.

Also, we thought Shelton was fodder for Shibata and look what happened today.

Just disgraceful this decision.

I don't remember puroresu spirit telling us that Tanahashi got mugged when he lost to Devitt at Dominion and the G1 Climax. They usually don't go into tons of details on the HOW, unless it's main event type match. I'm going to stay at shocked, until I see this go down, but I reserve the right to jump to dismayed

See where you are coming from. I just feel like with this decision, they are looking past Invasion Attack & Dontaku to the ROH joint shows and Yokohama and not really caring what they do for these next 2 shows. Because if you are gonna potentially have Shelton Benjamin main event a Sumo Hall show, then it shows how little you care about the show.

If they're running Nakamura/Okada at Invasion Attack, they're not looking past anything, though

But doing that match is rushed to me. Nakamura/Okada should be saved for Yokohama, not Invasion Attack when you only have a 12-day build. A 12-day build for one of the most-anticipated matches that NJPW has to offer right now? Come on man.

We said the same thing about Okada and Tanahashi last year, when it really was more than rushed, and we were given maybe the best wrestling match ever as a reward for our patience.

Suzuki could still win it all. Let's not discredit that.

Absolutely, but I'm trying to help Jason not be totally discouraged that Shibata lost, and Suzuki isn't moving that needle

Shibata sure made a great red herring. EVERYONE who saw the tease with him and Okada at New Beginning bought it. Set themselves up programming for Shibata right through to the G1, with the loss to Benjamin. Until he signs a full contract with New Japan, he's not on anything more than borrowed time, so it's good to dangle it out there, then pull back. Keeps him hot, and shows the promise that awaits him once he signs away his life and soul.

I was shocked when I first saw the result, but the more I think about it, the more I like it.

So the predictions end in a 3 way tie since Suzuki lost to Nakamura and no one sent me a match time prediction for the final.

How about a two-way tie, following the disqualification of Jason?

~ 3rd title defense.

(2) Special 6 Man Tag Match: Togi Makabe, Yuji Nagata & Kazushi Sakuraba [Free] vs. Minoru Suzuki, TAKA Michinoku & Taichi

(3) NWA World Tag Championship Match: [79th Champions] Rob Conway & Jax Dane vs. [Challenger] Hiroyoshi Tenzan & Satoshi Kojima

(4) Pro-Wrestling vs Jiu-Jitsu Mixed Martial Arts Match: Toru Yano & Takashi Iizuka vs. Daniel & Rolles Gracie
(5) Special Single Match: Ryusuke Taguchi vs. Prince Devitt
(6) Kazuchika Okada & YOSHI-HASHI vs. Bad Luck Fale & Tama Tonga

(7) NEVER Openweight Championship Match: [3rd Champion] Tomohiro Ishii vs. [Challenger] Tetsuya Naito
~ 1st title defense.

(8) IWGP Tag Championship Match: [64th Champions] Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows vs. [Challengers] Hirooki Goto & Katsuyori Shibata
~ 2nd title defense.

(9) IWGP Intercontinental Championship Match: [7th Champion] Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. [Challenger] Shinsuke Nakamura
