Just simply wonderful. I love the Oatmeal's work and this might just be my favourite of theirs yet. Worth reading.

They state that this was based on McRaney's podcast. I've listened to it on and off for a few years now, and find it kinda dry, but I've read 2 of his books and found them to be quite the eye openers. I try, but it is hard to put many of those concepts into practice. But realization is the first step.

It is indeed a struggle and I am no different in that regard, but it's as you said: realization is the first step.

An interesting take on Trump and Alex Jones that compares it to something we're all familiar with:

Only 3 porn sites in the top 50? And none higher than 25? That feels kinda light to me

Wow, interesting read. There's a support group? That's commitment. Me? I just think it's a damn near perfect film and rewatch it endlessly.

It is easy to be critical of what people become obsessed with, but really, they are no different than many Star Wars or wrestling or GoT or Walking Dead or whatever have you "superfans". The subject really makes little difference. I once got into a debate online here when i compared wrestling fans to NASCAR fans. Boy, that did not go over well. Fandom is all pretty much the same, regardless what it's about.

There is always someone out there who takes something you may enjoy greatly to levels you wouldn't even consider.

On the anniversary of the death of Robin Williams, I came across two deleted scenes from Mrs Doubtfire. They were cut for being too distressing for families to watch. Can't say they were wrong.
