The 2016 US Presidential Election

Post by eobversion1 » Wed Mar 02, 2016 9:14 am

Filed in Entertainment because Trump has turned it into a circus.

I get it, he's a big fat loud elephant.

This is from the TV series "Black Mirror". A fan edit but pretty spot on parallels.

If you watched that Jon Oliver clip, you'd know that he probably won't or if he does he'd probably get sued.

To me it's just pandering to the "They took our jobs" crowd. He's acknowledged in the past that the Republican base are easy to manipulate. He's a hypocrite, he'll flip flop depending on who he's trying to win votes from. This is proof. No matter what he says, no matter what he does there's a certain group of people that will just eat it up for no reason other than they agree with him in spite of facts, reason and/or logic. You can't sway them. At the end of the day he may or may not have your interests demonstrably at heart. They just won't care.

Trump is dangerous, because he's made racism and xenophobia mainstream, where before it was relegated to backwater hickvilles in the south, and had to be hidden in civilized society.

Trump doesn't scare me, he's a performer and this is his gimmick, same with Cruz. It's their followers that give me pause, because they're buying the gimmicks and they're legally allowed to vote and typically do so in droves. Kayfabe people, kay-fucking-fabe.

As wrestling fans have proven, they can't be bothered with kayfabe. What you see obviously has to be real and there can be no give on that

He's a delightful man. Language like this doesn't play well in the long run, it might make narrow-minded people vote for you but the lack of nuance is only going to incite ill will from everybody else. He's drawing a line in the sand. He doesn't realise that there are fewer people on his side of the line than he realises.

To be clear, I'm not against Trump just because I don't like him, his ideals or the language he uses. I'm against him because he gives sensible moderate Republicans no choice other than to vote for Hillary/Sanders or not at all. John McCain and Mitt Romney might have left something to be desired but at least, they had well tempered heads on their shoulders.

This is gold. Just proves that political rhetoric and factual analysis never line up and that people and their views are rarely swayed by those facts.

I'm a proponent of free speech, and the more violent and bloodthirsty the anti-Trump side is becoming in its efforts to shut down his campaign, the more reasonable he and his followers are looking. What happened in Chicago last night was downright scary.

Well, the media is blaming Trump for somehow inciting the violence. If a Bernie Sanders rally had to be shut down due to an invasion and severe violence from Trump protesters, would they blame Sanders? I highly doubt it.

Last night people were assaulted, ambulances were blocked, and guns were fired in the air. Yet the narrative is that Trump is the definition of evil and protests aimed at shutting down his campaign are to be endorsed.

Trump is certainly somewhat of a buffoon, but I don't see what's so pure and noble about the other side. People should be free to peacefully support whichever candidate they feel like. What Trump's campaign is doing is showing up a lot of people who claim to be liberal and tolerant as the exact opposite.

Trump is so right wing that it's natural that the far left (Who happen to lean closer to Bernie) would try to disrupt his campaign. Not really something to be remarked upon that's a reflection of the vast majority of people on the left or right for that matter. It certainly doesn't make them seem down to Earth or reasonable.

This picture doesn't exactly reflect The Republican party in any way shape or form. Taken out of context I could spin it that way, but I'm not going to.

I think you're giving the media too much credit with the whole "Trump is evil" thing, he's not, he's just a laughing stock. When even Fox News won't get behind you, that says a lot.

Also, Trump has lately been saying things, and I am paraphrasing here, like how he wish he could punch some of his protesters, like the good ole days.

Yeah, doesn't sound great in any way. Come back Mitt Romney all is forgiven. He's a guy I could get behind in this day and age.
