Just seen a snapshot of punisher and daredevil squaring up for the new series of daredevil and I must say love the new suit and how they portray punisher.

Justice League teaser(Release November 2017):

Wonder Woman Trailer 1(Release June 2017):

It's amazing how much I like this universe when it's actually, you know, fun. And it doesn't have it's head up it's own pretentious ass.

I think Wonder Woman looks excellent. Fun and bass. I wasn't sure about the setting prior to the trailer, but it totally sold me on it. Between the Suicide Squad ad campaign, the Wonder Woman trailer, and the Justice League trailer, this is everything the DC movie universe should have been from day one. Let's hope the future movies live up to it.

People will find something to bitch about though, between it and Wonder Woman.

It's being rumored by a lot of sources that Ben Affleck wants out of being Batman in the DCEU. This coming after it being confirmed about a week or two ago that he will no longer be directing the upcoming (?) solo Batman moive titled The Batman. Oh boy. I am a huge DC fan, I have liked (though not loved) Man of Steel and BvS, and Batman is and will likely always be my favorite superhero, but this is such a big blow to the already shaky ground of the DCEU. 2017 is shaping up to be a make or break year, because if Justice League and Wonder Woman aren't the box office smashes they need to be and if they get as critically panned as BvS and Suicide Squad, then this will be the last year of the DCEU and that will be a shame.

I'm hoping they pull it together, but man WW and Justice League already had massive uphill battles and these Affleck rumors (as well as the Flash movie not being able to keep a director, and Shazam not even having one, although they do have a Black Adam spin off in the works with The Rock being Teth Adam,) do not help at all.

To sum up the DCEU during the past few months:
- Internal leaks that Wonder Woman is a disjointed mess.
- The script submitted by The Flash’s director’s was rejected and they are starting a re-write phase from scratch with a new director.
- Ben Affleck dropped out as Director of The Batman and rumor has it he wants out of playing Batman asap.
- Henry Cavill is on the short list to be the next Bond. If he gets that gig his run as Superman would likely be done.
- WB made an offer to Mel Gibson to direct Suicide Squad 2. He’s on the fence about taking the gig.

So yeah, the DECU looks to be on death's door. Again it is a shame that they look like they can't pull it together. I want them to succeed as I am a big DC fan, but facts are facts, the higher ups at WB.

It's amazing that the best superhero movie from DC in almost a decade is fucking Lego Batman.

At least this offers a distraction from the craziness of Trump's America.

This greatly disappoints me, no one wanted a DCEU to work more than me and a lot of people but it seems like it's just not meant to be.

Pity because there are a lot of avenues I would have liked to see be explored. Mask of the Phantasm and Batman Beyond were some of my favourite arcs and they were animated. A lot of scope in envisioning them on the big screen in my view.

Indeed. Most of the problems seem to stem from too much studio interference and these productions getting screwed over because of it. At some point they are going to cut their loses and give up on the DCEU. Like you said Evan, it's disappointing as there are a lot of great stories in DC, that don't just revolve around Batman, that I wish they could get together and make live action movies, but it looks like they can't get it together.

Who knows, maybe this is all just a bunch of pre release smoke and both Justice League and Wonder Woman will succeed.
