In addition to his powerful conviction in the Winds of Winter, Liam Cunningham has proven himself to be an outstanding character actor. This scene from Steve McQueen's "Hunger" (2008) alongside Michael Fassbender shows how deep he can dig.

Maggie Smith beat out Emilia Clarke, Lena Heady and Maisie Williams for Supporting Actress in a Drama. GoT just can't win one in that category. That was Lena's to lose as far as I'm concerned. This was her year.

GoT won for Best Directing in a Drama just as I was typing this for the Battle of the Bastards episode. (Hold the Door episode was also nominated)

Kit Harington (sans Rose Leslie tonight) and Peter Dinklage both lost in the Supporting Actor in a Drama category.

Let's see if GoT can win the big one at the end of the night.

Given the late arrival of Season 7, GoT Season 6 has dropped on DVD in time for Christmas. That's right, it's on shelves now.

Peter Vaughn, who played Maester Aemon, has passed away.

And now his watch is ended.

I always enjoyed his role as the Ogre in Time Bandits.

At only 36 years old, Britain's tallest man (at 7'7", putting him three inches above even Andre the Giant and seven inches above the Big Show, for reference), and the actor behind the Wildling Giant known as Mag the Mighty (you might remember him as the giant who fought his way beneath the Wall during the battle in season 4's ninth episode), Neil Fingleton, has passed away from heart failure.

And now his watch is ended.

Was at a work event last night and saw everyone freaking out about that ice melting video.....it's just an air date. I figured it would air sometime between May and August, the reaction was akin to someone expecting their first child.

That being said I'm looking forward to some good entertainment, will look out for a bump in production quality given that Benioff and Weiss presumably have the money to spend on 7 episodes they used to have to make 10 with.

Game of Thrones returns this Sunday for SEASON 7!!

Let's get this thread moving again. What does everyone think will happen? We're in uncharted territory here, us bookreaders are as in the dark as the Show-only crowd. So, let your predictions run wild.

Slightly disappointed with the longer episode runtimes. Was hoping they would stick to the hour but really swing for the fences in terms of scale given the money they have to play with. I'm sure it'll be a good season though.

I'm in the other boat on that one. Gimme longer runtimes. More per episode? Why yes, yes I will take that.
