What have you been listening to?
Lately I have been listening to Elliott Smith's album "XO" It's by far his best record he ever put out, there is not a bad song on the album. It's a shame this dude stabbed himself.
My favorite songs on "XO"
-Waltz #2
-Bled White
-Pitseleh

I'm digging a lot Kansas. Their self-titled is a masterpiece. Also the Mars Volta and some Eric Clapton as I'm trying to play Layla (unplugged version) on guitar.

Been listening to a lot of The Verve recently, saw them in concert on Friday as well and they were f**king phenomenal.
Also been listening to tons of The Kinks and The Rolling Stones. Classic British rock music just oozes cool.
Also, any fans of The Prodigy, try to find Kasabian's cover of 'Out of space'. It's pretty friggin good.

This is the latest CD I had listened to; if you want to hear some good Neil Young covers, check this out:

You can get it at some Starbucks stores, or either online at http://slothtrop.com/cd_barn.html or http://cdbaby.com/cd/morebarn
Lots of GOOD STUFF on it. I'm not big on covers of major artists, but this is one of the better ones I've heard in ages.

Lietmotif was like THE ALBUM when I was in high school. Dredg is from Northern California and they used to play in my hometown pretty often. This is hard rock that's actually good.Flair_Pinned_Me wrote:dredg
Songs I've been listening to a bunch lately:
The Narrator - Surfjew
Grizzly Bear - Little Brother (Electric)
Bat for Lashes - What's a Girl To Do?
Talking Heads - This Must Be The Place
Velvet Underground - I Found a Reason
The Knife - Heartbeats (this song is my secret gay obsession)
Go! Team - Keys To The City
Kanye West - We Don't Care
M.I.A. ft. Bun B and Rich Boy - Paper Planes Remix
Sexton Blake - Daniel (Elton John Cover)
Midlake - Roscoe
And I also became reobsessed with what may be the best song of 2007, Fireworks by Animal Collective
You want mp3s of any of this stuff then holla.

Okay, well I've been listening to two really great records over the past few days...Spoon's new CD is tight, it's got some great songs, but I rediscovered "Ok Computer" from Radiohead....This shit is off the hook for real, Mr. Yorke is my main dawg. The song "Paranoid Android" is particularly great. This is by far my favorite Radiohead CD, but I still gotta check out that new shit...
