Well, I'd go with Maddie, too, but to keep things interesting, I'll take Ricochet to flip his way to the Cup, and Masterpiece to win the Grand Championship.

New fucking CHIKARA policy: If you're complaining several times a month about not being on a single show, you're going into a goddamn Dark Match Battle Royal.

Easiest way to solve that problem is to job someone out, so that they auto-push lower on the card.

Main Show

We open up the first ever CHIKARA TV with some fanfare and excitement, as Leon Chikarason and Wink Vavasseur welcome us to the show. They announce that tonight’s a big night in CHIKARA history, as this is the night we will be crowning both our first Young Lion’s Cup winner, and our first Grand Champion! They announce that our first match will be the Young Lion’s Cup Finals between Madison Eagles and Ricochet.

Rating: E+

We see a video highlighting both Ricochet’s and Eagles’ path to the finals, and back to Eagles’ first night in CHIKARA when she was accidentally involved between a brawl between Icarus and Ricochet.

Rating: D

Match 1
Young Lion’s Cup Finals
Madison Eagles vs Ricochet

Ricochet is out first, but as he’s trying to play to the crowd in the ring, Madison Eagles comes out, while his music is playing, and stomps her way to the ring. Ricochet is unaware of her presence while up on the Turnbuckle, so she pulls him off, points to the opposite side of the ring, and yells at him to get over there. Ricochet obliges, shaking his head. It becomes a battle of Eagles’ determination and tenacity versus Ricochet’s athleticism and agility, but neither competitor is able to get the upper hand. Ricochet hits a dropkick that sends Eagles into the ropes, and Ricochet catches her with a German Suplex off the rebound. He goes up for the Double Rotation Moonsault, but Eagles gets the knees up into the midsection. Ref starts the count, as Eagles recovers from the flurry she took, and Ricochet tries to get the air back into his lungs. Eagles is up at 6, and she drags Ricochet to his feet, and wraps his arms in the ropes. She gets a head of steam and lands a huge Running Boot to the trapped Ricochet. She frees him, and plants Ricochet with the Hellbound for the victory.

Rating: E+

After the match, Eagles is presented the Young Lion’s Cup, and she celebrates her win.

Rating: D-

Match 2
Create-A-Wrestler (Still as Hogan) & Sugar Dunkerton vs 2.0 (Scott Parker & Shane Matthews)
Yeaaaah. The established tag team takes the thrown-together group to task when Parker picks up the pinfall for his team.

A video package plays, showing all of the events leading up to tonight’s Grand Championship match, Eagles holding the Young Lion’s Cup is the last image of the video.

Main Event
CHIKARA Grand Championship Match
6-Person Elimination Match
Ace Steel vs Delirious vs Eddie Kingston vs Matt Striker w/Miss Kimberlee vs The Masterpiece w/Evie vs Madison Eagles

The match dissolves into a clusterfuck almost immediately, with Striker and Kingston hammering away at The Masterpiece, Delirious and Steel pairing off, and Eagles chills on the outside. She goes over to the commentary table and has a seat. Steel though with a flash pin on Delirious, and he’s eliminated!
Ace Steel Eliminates Delirious (rollup)
Kingston sees Steel celebrating, and immediately breaks off what he’s trying to do with Masterpiece and goes after Steel. The two trade shots, as Masterpiece animates to grapple with Masters. These pairings continue for some time, until Masterpiece and Steel are standing back to back in the center of the ring. Striker and Kingston go for flying crossbodies, but Steel and Masterpiece duck, and Eddie and Matt collide in mid air. Steel and Masterpiece turn around, and shrug, then give each other a high-five. Then Steel tries to rollup Masterpiece. Masterpiece turns to stone during the rollup, with his arm still extended in the air. The ref checks, and his shoulder isn’t on the mat. Steel tries to push it down, but the Granite Giant’s arm won’t budge. Frustrated, Steel stands up, and turns around into a huge running boot from Eagles, who came flying in from ringside. She picks up Steel and hits him with the Hellbound for the pin.
Madison Eagles eliminates Ace Steel (Hellbound)
After the ref counts three, she slinks back to the outside. She sees Evie on the outside cheering on Masterpiece, oblivious to Eagles’ presence. Eagles walks over to the Kiwi, and taps her on the shoulder. Evie’s face drops when she turns to see Eagles towering over her. Madison just grins, and tousles the hair of Evie, and pats her on the shoulder before returning to her spot by the commentary table. Masterpiece boots Striker from the ring, who’s still down from the flying crossbody, and picks up Kingston, slapping on the Full Nelson. Kingston fights with all his might, and looks like he might break the hold, but The Masterpiece turns to Stone! The Master Lock is applied! Kingston is struggling and screaming in pain, but he refuses to tap. The ref checks his arm, as he’s slouched over in Masterpiece’s arms. Kingston’s arm falls once. Twice. Thrice. The ref rules Kingston out by submission.
The Masterpiece Eliminates Eddie Kingston (Master Lock)
Masterpiece releases the hold and poses in the ring. Striker comes to on the outside, and sees Madison just chilling, and he goes to throw her into the ring. Eagles resists, and the two brawl on the outside, culminating with Striker throwing her into the steel steps. He presses the attack though, and tosses her into the barricade before rolling her into the ring. Cover, and kickout at 2. Striker uses his old-school mentality to just wail away on Eagles, slapping on a headlock whenever she tries to get some separation. Masterpiece comes over to try to break it up, but Miss Kimberlee grabs onto Masterpieces foot. Evie sees this and comes flying around the ring, taking Kimberlee down with a tackle and starts attacking her at ringside. Masterpiece goes to rush Striker, but Striker sidesteps and pushes Masterpiece over the ropes. Eagles uses this opportunity to fight back, and after running her comeback, has Striker up for Hellbound, but he counters, and traps her with his Rolling Fujiwara Armbar. Eagles struggles for the ropes, trying to drag them both, but the pain is too much, and she taps out.
Matt Striker Eliminates Madison Eagles (Rolling Fujiwara Armbar)
Masterpiece climbs back in, and Striker knees him as he comes through the ropes. Striker sets him up for the Rolling Fujiwara Armbar, but as he rolls through, Masterpiece turns to stone, and Striker is unable to bend his arm. Masterpiece then rolls over on top of Striker and re-statues. Striker’s kicking his legs, and trying to escape, but he can’t break free from the statue. The Masterpiece is the CHIKARA Grand Champion!
The Masterpiece Eliminates Matt Striker (Rollup)

Rating: D-

Striker rolls to the outside to a beleaguered Miss Kimberlee. Wink Vavasseur has left commentary to join the two, and yell at the ring that this nonsense will not stand. Striker is holding his ribs as Kimberlee and Wink help him to the back. The Masterpiece celebrates his win as Leon Chikarason presents him the brand new CHIKARA Grand Championship, representing Mike Quackenbush, who is still not cleared to return due to his broken leg. Streamers fall from the ceiling, as The Masterpiece celebrates, with Evie cheering from ringside.

MASTERPIECE~!
#StatuEvie

Goober knows well that the big Australian treating the little Kiwi like a child is something that warms my Commonwealth heart. Evie & Kimberlee joining Masterpiece & Striker for a tag match will definitely be good times, as well.

CHIKARA TV is something I would watch, unlike if CHIKARA had television in reality.

I'm always curious about times for Jama's matches as he's super protective of that. This feels like a half hour show, but in real life, CHIKARA would've ran that elimination match for at least 45 minutes with like a half hour before the first elimination, So I'm torn.

And fuck, even in CHIKARA Maddie Eagles can't rule the world. Damn. Probably shouldn't have bought into the hype of Masterpiece and Evie being tag champs, though he does have all the belts so he could be a double champion quite easily.

And a major elimination match starting and ending on rollups? Yeah, that's so fucking the indies

Hearing reasonable times for a major stipulated Indy match? That's insane.

Or maybe I'm still just feeling the PTSD from watching the Eddie Edwards/Roderick Strong Ringmaster Challenge match in ROH.

I don't think I've ever been so mad at a match, in my life

What the hell is a Ringmaster Challenge match?

Also, now Masterpiece has Two Grand Champion belts. One is plaster white, the other is normal.

I'm glad you took the bait and asked that Jama.

The Ringmaster Challenge is a very special 3 Stages of Hell match.

Fall One: Can ONLY be won via pinfall
Fall Two: Can ONLY be won via submission
Fall Three: Is a 15 minute iron man match

The match between Eddie Edwards and Roddy Strong went to a time limit draw in the third fall, and was restarted by then ROH Executive Director Jim Cornette, under sudden death rules. They went approximately another 10 minutes before Eddie Edwards finally picked up the win.

Yup.

That happened

Can ring of honor main eventer even win a single pinfall inside 15 minutes? I was under the impression that they had to go at least 25.

How close was it to the additional time limit?

The total match was over 45 minutes, so taking out the iron man and 10 minutes of overtime they still went about 20+ minutes for the first two falls

That submission fall was interminable

That does sound like a stretch of a time.

Looks like you got a some more fine tuning done on this latest show Jama, seems to have worked itself out a little better.

Nope, it sure wasn't. The main event was the Ladder War match that turned the All Night Express into superstars...

Was supposed to turn them into superstars...

Was supposed to push them...

Was...something?

Ah yes, when they ran a supposedly big PPV event that turned out to not be canon. That was pretty f'n glorious.

Anyway, we shouldn't sully Jama's CHIKARA with talk of the promotion that continually tries to compete with TNA for the title of "worst wrestling promotion in the world".

Because "running shows that are cannon to your product" shouldn't have to be a lesson anyone learns, but there is the proof
