NXT Names Tabbed for Main Roster?

According to sources, the WWE has had they're on eye on bringing up some talent from NXT to try out on the house show circuit, in hopes of debuting them on Raw within the next few weeks. Some sources point to CJ Parker being the next to make the jump, while others are saying Aiden English will make his debut next. We'll keep you posted on any new developments.

SPECULATION~!~!~!

Alex Riley was moved up to the main roster, to do commentary for Main Event, alongside Scott Stanford & Road Dogg. To accommodate that, William Regal was promoted to Smackdown, allowing Michael Cole to no longer work both A-shows.

Speaking of which, the latest Smackdown has been simulated. The write-up may be delayed for a week, though, with all the Wrestlemania craziness.

Friday, Week 3, Sept 2013

16 days until WWE Battleground

Taped for Superstars:

International Airstrike defeated David Otunga and Alex Riley in 4:41 when Justin Gabriel defeated Alex Riley by pinfall with a 450 Splash.
C

Big E. Langston defeated Ezekiel Jackson in 4:53 by pinfall with The Big Ending.

-------------------------

WWE Smackdown

The show opens with a video recapping Daniel Bryan interrupting Randy Orton and The Authority in the ring, to say that he deserves a title match WITHOUT anybody outside getting involved, only to have Triple H announce a 16-man Beat The Clock Challenge, featuring only Superstars who have never been WWE Champion.
A*

The video then shifts gears, looking at the wild night for the World Heavyweight Championship. First is Triple H forcing Rob Van Dam to defend the title on Raw, against the doctor's recommendations. RVD successfully retained against Alberto Del Rio, despite having a severely damaged left arm, only to have Damien Sandow cash in his Money in the Bank contract, and win the World Heavyweight Championship.
A

Beat the Clock Challenge
R-Truth vs. Wade Barrett

Wade Barrett prides himself on being able to scout opponents like no other, so not knowing who he'd be facing already took him off his game. That his opponent is as unorthodox as R-Truth didn't help, but Barrett was able to weather the early storm, and call on his bare-knuckle boxing past to gain control, and refused to let it go. It was all for naught, though, as R-Truth was able to wiggle free, and land What's Up for the victory, setting the time to beat at 10:51.
R-Truth defeated Wade Barrett in 10:51 by pinfall with What's Up.
B+

Stephanie McMahon and Vickie Guerrero are chatting in the executive office, with The Shield milling about in the background, when The Miz comes in, asking to be put in the Beat the Clock Challenge. Stephanie refuses, saying it's only for people that have never been champion before, and can't make an exception, even for someone whose title reign was so long ago that most people have forgotten about it. But she has an idea, and she thinks that Vickie Guerrero will like it. The Miz wants his chance to regain his past glory, so why wait? How about tonight, The Miz goes one-on-one with the WWE Champion, Randy Orton? It will be non-title, of course, because that wouldn't be fair to everyone in the Beat the Clock Challenge, but this will be the perfect opportunity for The Miz to show all his doubters just how "must see" he still is. Dean Ambrose steps forward, with a big smirk, and tells Miz that he, for one, will be watching, and that he might even need to get a ringside seat for this one....
A

We see highlights from Raw, of Paul Heyman introducing his new client, Ryback, CM Punk saying that Brock Lesnar didn't scare him, so neither will this new monster, and Curtis Axel's failed attempt at an ambush.
A

Zack Ryder vs. Curtis Axel
Ryder is always fired up to be wrestling on TV, and his opening flurry took him right through a Broski Boot, and into the Rough Ryder, but Curtis Axel avoided that last, unleashed a quick flurry, and punctuated the victory with his running neckbreaker, now called the Drive Axel.
Curtis Axel defeated Zack Ryder in 2:52 by pinfall with a Drive Axel.
C+

Paul Heyman and Ryback join Curtis Axel in the ring, and apparently feeling the message hads't been fully sent, Ryback lifts Zack Ryder up for Shell Shock. Before he can deliver the move, though, Cult of Personality blasts through the arena, and CM Punk steps onto the stage, with a microphone in one hand, and a kendo stick in the other. He says that on Monday, Paul Heyman tried to set up an ambush, and managed to slip away, but tonight, all of Heyman's goons are right here in front of him. It doesn't matter if Heyman has an ARMY to protect him, there is no man on Earth that can stop CM Punk from giving Paul Heyman the beating of his life.

EXCUSE ME!!!!!

Vickie Guerrero steps out from the back, saying that it's funny CM Punk should say that no man can stop him, because she is no man. She's the General Manager of Smackdown, which means this is her show, and she will not have Superstars going on vigilante rampages. Maybe they allow that kind of behaviour on Raw, but not here; not on Guerrero's watch. CM Punk isn't scheduled to be here, and if this is what he wants to do, then he is not welcome. She calls security to escort CM Punk out of the arena, then tells Heyman and his "Guys" to vacate the ring, because there are more Beat the Clock Challenge matches coming up.
A

A video plays, showing Dusty Rhodes' encounter with Stephanie McMahon, on Raw. The Big Show was forced to knock him out, in order to save Dusty from an assault by The Shield, then ended up facing them in a 3-on-1 handicap match, immediately afterwards. The video ends with The Shield standing tall over Big Show, after a Triple Powerbomb.

Beat the Clock Challenge
Time to Beat - 10:51

Evan Bourne vs. Seth Rollins

Bourne returns from a long hiatus, catching Rollins completely off guard. He rips out a blistering sequence of high flying maneuvers, gets Rollins in position, and climbs up top, looking to go Air Bourne. Roman Reigns, however, pulls Rollins to the outside, before Bourne can leap. Reigns eats a crossbody for his trouble, but this allows Rollins to send Bourne into the barricade, and take control. That let Rollins settle in, work to ground Bourne, but also remind everyone that he can up the tempo, too, when need be. It was this latter ability that finally made the difference, as a timely evasion opened up Bourne for the killing blow, with Rollins delivering his devastating running Curb Stomp to pick up the victory, and set the new time to beat.
Seth Rollins defeated Evan Bourne in 9:01 by pinfall with a Curb Stomp.
A

Raw Rebound: Bella Twins vs. AJ Lee & Layla, with Brie Bella pinning Layla.
A

Brie Bella vs. Layla
Divas Champion AJ Lee joined commentary, and spent the time saying that Brie Bella was in the 4-way match at Night of Champions, and it doesn't matter that Naomi was the one who tapped out. Brie had her chance, and lost. She doesn't deserve another opportunity at the title. Meanwhile, Layla got complacent, and ate a Bella Buster for her trouble, as Brie did her best to prove AJ wrong.
Brie Bella defeated Layla in 4:01 by pinfall with a Bella Buster.
C-

Renee Young is joined by her guest, The Miz. She asks him about the comments from Stephanie McMahon tonight, and Dean Ambrose on Monday, both saying that he's not must-see any more. Miz says that he wants to get angry at them for it, but deep down, he can't help but wonder if they're right. Maybe he has lost himself along the way. Maybe he's lost the fire. Maybe he's not who he used to be. Maybe... Maybe none of that matters, because all that he can control is what happens now, and what happens in the future, and if he's lost anything, tonight is when he finds it again. Tonight, he's giving himself a reality check, and by the time they roll the credits, dim the lights, and stop the cameras, Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, Dean Ambrose, and the so-called Face of the WWE are going to know that he's The Miz... and he's... AWESOME!

The new World Heavyweight Champion, Damien Sandow, triumphantly makes his way to the ring, with the championship belt proudly displayed within his robe. Once in the ring, he calls for silence, and tells the audience that in the late 17th century, great minds such as John Locke, Voltaire, Francis Bacon, and Isaac Newton challenged the tranditions, stereotypes, and intolerance of the world around them, beginning what is known as the Age of Enlightenment. Today, as your intellectual saviour, Sandow stands before you, ushering in a new Age of Enlightenment, here in the WWE. Gone are the miscreants, the fools, and the clowns. No more are the oddities and absurdities. Starting today, we all live in a Universe free from the stumbling, bumbling imbeciles that have sullied this ring, and poisoned your minds. Starting toda—

Sandow is cut off by the operatic strains that herald the arrival of Santino Marella, who tonight is carrying a very familiar sight: The Money In The Bank briefcase. Arriving in the ring, Santino says that there's something different about Mister Dami-on. Did he get a haircut? Is he wearing a new robe? Perhaps he got a manicure? Oh! That's it. He has a shiny new championship belt. Santino says it looks very good on him, if he doesn't mind him saying it. Sandow says he doesn't mind that, but he does mind Santino walking around with his briefcase. Santino responds with a wag of his finger, saying that it isn't his briefcase any more. He cashed it in to get that new shiny belt, and it's such a nice briefcase, it would be a shame for nobody to use it. Since the WWE won't need it until next summer, he thought: Why not have Santino Marella use it? Sandow says that the WWE's case was ruined, so he bought that briefcase with his own money, and starts a tug of war. Santino eventually lets go, sending the case flying back right into Sandow's face. A referee arrived at that moment, removed the briefcase from the ring, and called for the bell.
A

Santino Marella vs. Damien Sandow
Sandow was disoriented, and still wearing his robe and belt, allowing Santino to hold an early advantage. He unloaded his usual flurry, and began reaching for the Cobra, when Sandow retreated out of the ring, finally shaking free of his robe, and taking the belt off. Now ready to compete, and with extra motivation, Sandow dominated the rest of the match, and won in emphatic fashion.
Damien Sandow defeated Santino Marella in 3:41 by pinfall with a Terminus.
B

After being announced as the winner, Damien Sandow tells Lillian Garcia to again announce him as the World Heavyweight Champion. She begins to do so, but as she's about to say his name, the voice of Ricardo Rodriguez rings through the arena, saying Sandow's name with a hint of his signature sustain, as he steps onto the entrance stage, with a smile on his face. He wants to congratulate Sandow for winning the title. His friend and client, Rob Van Dam, once cashed in Money In The Bank, too. He told his opponent ahead of time, instead of picking on a wounded man, of course, but still, they understand that's how it works. Anyway, doctors had advised RVD not to compete on Monday, but he was forced to by Triple H, and now he's resting at home, allowing his arm to heal. Not to worry, though, because RVD will be back in time for WWE Battleground. Ricardo has already talked to Vickie Guerrero, and it's official. At Battleground, in two weeks, Damien Sandow will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against ROB... VAN... DAM!
A

Brad Maddox is in his office, talking to Dolph Ziggler and Fandango. He tells them that we've already had two great Beat the Clock matches tonight, and he knows the action is going to heat up even more on Raw, especially with the likes of "The Show-Off" Dolph Ziggler, and the WWE Universe's favourite dance team.... Fandango cuts him off, saying that he'll do this part. He snaps his fingers, and Summer Rae appears from off-screen, twirling into frame for a dip. "It's Faaaaaan... Daaaaaaan... G——" Dolph Ziggler cuts him off, saying that, actually, he thinks Maddox was talking about him, pointing past Fandango. The camera pans over to show Brodus Clay waving, with a big grin on his face, and the Funkadactyls at his side, lightly shaking their pompoms. Fandango is so disgusted that he almost drops Summer as he storms out of the room. Ziggler makes the catch, and Summer pushes him away, following after her man.
A

Zeb Colter and the Real Americans, Jack Swagger and Antonio Cesaro, make their entrance for the next Beat the Clock match. On their way, Colter stops to say a few words. He says that there has been a lot of talk of late about who is the "Face of the WWE". Well, if The Authority wants a Face they can really be proud of, they need someone who understands the value of hard work, someone who understands loyalty, and someone who can be the moral compass of not only the locker room, but all the lazy, greedy, and ignorant members of the WWE Universe, like a lot of the fans in attendance tonight. They need a Real American, like Jack Swagger, who is going to go in that ring, and set a time to beat that can't be beat. But first, he wants all True Patriots and Real Americans to put their hand over their heart, and say in a loud, clear voice: WE THE PEOPLE.

Kofi Kingston vs. Jack Swagger

Kofi & Swagger are no strangers to each other, so they didn't require much of a feeling out process, despite not being able to scout their opponent. As expected, this match saw Kofi Kingston using his speed and agility, while Jack Swagger's size, strength, and amateur background reined him in. As the clock wound down, Swagger took the first opening he saw, and grabbed Kofi's foot for the Patriot Lock. Kofi struggled, and as the seconds ticked away, Swagger looked to crank up the pressure, by standing up straight, to elevate the hold. This change in position, though, allowed Kofi to roll through, and hook Swaggers legs for the surprise roll-up.
Kofi Kingston defeated Jack Swagger in 8:32 by pinfall.

The Miz & Randy Orton are shown walking backstage. They'll go one-on-one in our main event, next.

A promo clip for WWE Battleground airs, featuring a voice-over by Sheamus. From theatres of war, to wherever competition takes place, everyone gives their all and pushes themselves to the limit, on the battleground, and this... this is OUR Battleground.
A

The Miz vs. Randy Orton
True to their word, The Shield came to ringside as the match got underway, and their presence caused enough of a distraction to The Miz that Randy Orton took control right out of the gate. Miz wasn't backing down, though, and was able to turn things around, causing Orton to retreat outside for a breather. Miz looked to follow, but was cut off by The Shield, and was met by Orton snapping him across the top rope, as he tried to re-enter the ring. Orton followed outside, but told The Shield that he could handle this one on his own, then set about proving it, laying a beating on The Miz, including a draping DDT from the barricade. Miz beat the count, and Orton settled into his methodical control. He seemed more intent on sending a message to everyone in the Beat the Clock Challenge than finishing Miz off quickly, which - along with his resilience and resolve - allowed Miz to stay in it. He eventually was able to string together enough offence to set up for the Skull-Crushing Finale, but Dean Ambrose climbed onto the ring apron, drawing both the referee and The Miz over to him. Miz took a swing, and Ambrose dropped down, but Miz was greeted by an RKO, as soon as he turned around.
Randy Orton defeated The Miz in 14:46 by pinfall with a RKO.
A*

As soon as the bell sounds, Roman Reigns & Seth Rollins step onto the apron, while Dean Ambrose retrieves Randy Orton's title, all entering the ring together. Orton is frustrated, yelling that he didn't need their help, because he's the Face of the WWE. After some tense moments, Ambrose tosses the belt over Orton's shoulder, gives it a pat on the face plate, and The Shield exits, smiling knowingly, as Orton stood seething.

A first for both of them, at this early juncture. That's just the magic of the WWE, man. This is their Battleground.

I still do. That's why I've only just now finished writing up the matches for the next Raw. Now onto the promos.
