Good ol' Super Mario and his Luigi: Jaromir Jagr. One of the best two-man-power-teams in NHL history, right up there next to Gretzky and Messier.

He was playing in a time of a talent boom too. The 80's to 2000's era saw some of the biggest cache record breaker and record setting players in any one time in the NHL if I recall correctly. Lemieux shared the ice with guys like the aforementioned Gretzky and Messier and others like Brett Hull, Pavel Bure, Eric Lindros, Patrick Roy, Joe Sakic, Doug Gilmour, Peter Bondra, Teemu Selanne, Mike Modano, Luc Robataille, Ed Belfour, Paul Kariya, Cam Neely, Adam Graves, Brian Leetch, Craig MacTavish, Curtis Joseph, Martin Brodeur, Dominik Hasek, Adam Oates, Steve Yzerman, Paul Coffey. Those were no easy customers to make a career against.

Apparently Ulf Samuelsson is coming to interview for the Pittsburgh Penguins head coaching job. Interesting...

That would be the reason for his consideration, yes.

For anyone who isn't checking out the NHL Awards, Sidney Crosby is this year's recipient of both the Art Ross Trophy and Ted Lindsay Award. :D

Apparently the Pens have selected Mike Johnston as their new head coach. Should be fascinating to see how this season turns out.

Interesting. I thought Ulf was a shoe-in for the job.

Me too. I haven't heard anything official yet, which is why I used "apparently."

Pens made quite an interesting trade today:

1st round of the draft went down too, Edmonton picked, YEP another center. Because that's exactly what they needed. MORE forwards. /sarcasm.
