This place, is coming like a ghost town

Post by anarchistxx » Tue Aug 11, 2015 6:34 pm

My account still works about ten years since I last logged on :o Madness. This place randomly popped into my head and thought I would swing by to see if it still existed...totally dead. Guess social media really has replaced forums.

Any of the old timers circa 2002-2005 still post on here? Be interesting to see where everyones lives went all these years on, aside from the obvious tragic ones who died etc. that people knew about.

Any scandal still happen on here? Remember some crazy things occurring back in the day...arrests for child grooming...forum members hooking up in hotel rooms...posters inventing stories about family deaths for sympathy and being outed by industrious members going through local archives, people dying, people spamming, plagiarism.

Crazy, I was only about twelve/thirteen at the time, proper eye opener.

Anyway, no use in rambling, the reminiscing is over...

We have Little Jimmy now.

I'm still here, but rarely post in the wrestling forums. I mostly hang in the Member Games or Sports Forum these days.

I wouldn't call this place dead, I'd say it's more like a small coffee shop or pub that's in a neighborhood that used to be a hot spot, but the job market there dried up and most people moved away. There's still some customers around, some like those of us in the counting game, have even made it our own little hangout spot. We certainly don't have the type of drama there used to be and I like to think that's a good thing, but the sign on the door still says 'Open'.

The off topic board is more active than the main board, which on a wrestling forum is definitely not a good thing. But those of us who are here are pretty much our own little community and that's definitely not a bad thing. There's always some sort of activity on a daily basis here, it just isn't always to everyone's preference. Some people prefer the wrestling, some people prefer the fun and games. Some people happily take part in both.

More people would be nice, sure. But I don't really have much to complain about with the forum the way it exists now. If the regulars decide to leave, then it's going to suck.

Ain't no big thing isrs, just another one of those posts about people regretting they were a small bit curious about what this place is like when they haven't visited in years.

I can be considered old school now I guess?...

BTW, members hooking up in hotel rooms? Sounds like a Princess Erica story!

Think it was Fawn actually, she hooked up with TheNextBigJobber. Who hilariously got arrested a few months later for grooming children/child porn or something of that sort, think they got him in one of those stings. Seemed to happen a lot in the wrestling fandom, same thing happened to Chris Coey who ran the Air Raid Crash site.

Anyone remember the utterly insane Molly Holly fan who posted for a while?

That was the last part of the golden age of the internet, before all the big websites and corporations took over and it all became homogeneous. In those days 'internet wrestling fan' was a common term to describe people who posted places like this...whereas every wrestling fan is an internet fan now.

Does Paul Nemer still run the joint around here? What happened to Ryan Allen's wrestling career? BenHagen still around?

Nemer still runs the place, his appearances are rare and sporadic. He's emulated Vince McMahon. Everyone knows he's running things, but he only shows up once in a while to remind us in a very special guest appearance.

I remember I was banned from 2005,06,07&Most of 2008 till the fall when I became isrs4life for to much editing my post or deleting my topics
or the guy who annoys the shit out of tvs and if you remember tvs he had a melt down and removed
his administrative position and deleted all his post.

Lately I found my old love for being a wwe or tna fan and like most of the roster
and I even like John Cena I just enjoy the show now ha one time I use to want
to be a wrestler but that did not work out because I almost joined my former
high school wrestling team. But I got nervous even hitting someone or being hit by another one so I just gave up on it.

I don't remember Fawn :( TheNextBigJobber yeah I do remember him, but wow, didn't know about the child porn stuff. Maybe it was during the years I was absent. How do you guys know all that stuff??

I still believe the Veterans forum is where all the fun is. Probably everyone there is discussing, talking, having fun, hooking up in hotel rooms and living in a space-time anormality where we never left 2005 and Paul Nemer is still turning every thread into a Shawn screwed Bret and Argentina winning the World Cup topics. Oh and everyone has Princess Erica tits pic as the symbol of their quasi-illuminati wrestling geeks secret society.

I spent/wasted a LOT of time on these boards... I probably called TheNextBigJobber a pedophile long before the cops charged him as such...I guess you could call me a visionary. Whats this of a TVS breakdown? Glad to hear everybody is doing *so well*...

He just did not want to put up theme styles for this forum or bring back the edit
button which was brought back even to me not by him thow well greg.
Greg Mcneish is the main global moderater now and he had a stroke while back but still kept it pumping around.

Ahh, I do not see tvs login name on this forum anymore because I checked it a week ago.

I also use to annoy this sh*T out of him to for some reasons...

Those days were fun but are pretty much gone. Of all the people on the first page of the members roster, I'm about the only one who still logs in here regularly.

TVS deleted his entire account, not because he didn't want to do any admin work, but because he showed up, called this place down to the dirt and I confronted him over it.

Also, Nemer added the edit button. Greg has no such power to do so.
