That's an awesome way of marketing the book, LC. I simply loved it.

While 'Power Play' is off for editing, I've begun the manuscript for 'On Ice: Power Play Book 2.' Today I reached over 2,100 words!

'are you coming?' (work in progress)

walking away
another fight i refused to finish
you dared me to swing but i didn't
if you were still and silent you could listen
to my heart break
fueled by the discrepencies in your past
every reason to doubt you and i could last
the hope to reconcile fading fast...

closing the door
making sure it was locked behind me
anger makes us say and do things blindly
without a light on i was hiding
unlike before
i could dare say what needed to be said
to rest comfortably together in bed
and awaken to continue this love we led...

world kept spinning
so how did it feel like time stood still?
was i living a dream yet to be fulfilled
or was i already dead, just waiting for the kill?..

the letter that never came
the call you never made
while all i did was wait
are you coming?
imagination left
with my feelings unsaid
asking myself again
are you coming
i kept biting my tongue
keeping this from everyone
hoping that you would come
why you running?
if everywhere we turn
we find lessons unlearned
my flame for you still burns...

What is wrong with that interviewer? Those are some invasive questions about her first love and then right into the worst thing that ever happened to you! Good God, woman!!!

That's "walk out of the interview" territory of inappropriateness, right there. Seriously

I think this would be a fun exercise. Find out which writer you are. I repeatedly got H.P. Lovecraft. I really don't know how I feel about that.

I copied different chunks of text from my fanfiction. It doesn't give random names for random entries, repeating the same text gave the same author.

First I got Douglas Adams, then Jack London. Finally I got Isaac Asimov.

Also, just noticed that poem, stonecoldnimrod, well done, man. Keep at it, don't ever feel discouraged.

Furthermore, I've also never put the link to my own website up here before. Yeah, it's in my sig, but who reads that?

Check it out, there's a few chapters and an excerpt up there for your reading pleasure. And brief character bios.

I'm working on a follow-up book to Power Play. I finally finished the book blurb and approved the cover done in-house by my publisher. The new book should be released sometime next spring. Here's a peek at both.

ON ICE: POWER PLAY BOOK 2

Image

Publisher: Palm Tree Books

Quinn Talmadge grew up in the world of his parents, hockey legends turned Pittsburgh Rebels owners Troy and Alex Talmadge, while working hard to create his own. He outwardly appears as a picture of success from adolescence to adulthood: captain of his school’s hockey team, dating the class beauty, a junior league standout, American Hockey Conference’s hottest draft pick, and following in his father’s footsteps as the Rebels’ captain.

Beneath the surface, shy and awkward Quinn deals with the pains of being dumped by his first love, taunts and intentional attempts made by opponents to injure him, verbal abuse from teammates’ parents on and off the ice, media scrutiny as “the player with strange violet eyes,” and wondering if he’ll end up alone while witnessing teammates interacting with spouses and significant others.

He then meets April Stephens in an unconventional manner one night while out with friends, but will a second chance at love survive the demands of his hockey career?
