Not technically the last things I ate, but this week I did try out 2 new chicken specialties:

1. Taco Bell's Naked Chicken Chalupa. If you are not familiar with the chalupa, it's similar to a taco with it's fillings, but the shell is a fried, doughy flatbread, sorta like a doughnut. I like them. This abomination replaces that shell with a flattened, breaded, and fried psuedo-shell of some sort of chicken meat. The concept seems kinda cool, but the reality is they are small, expensive and spiced in a way that I thought was pretty wretched tasting. Thumbs down on this thing.

2. McDonald's Chicken McGriddler. An oversized chicken McNugget on 2 pancakes. I like the McGriddler concept, this isn't too bad tasting. It's redeeming value is that, at the moment, they are $1 a piece. Not as good as a Hardee's Chicken Filet Biscuit, not as spicy or dry as a Bojangle's Chicken Biscuit, about between the two. Unlike those other two, which are actually identifiable as pieces of chicken, the McDonald's product seems to be some sort of reconstituted breaded meat product of questionable source.
