I had a video clip of Billy Kidman and The Wall from wcw
It was The Wall chokeslamming Kidman in a very short match version of WWE Hell in a Cell
which I think they called cage heat.

It did work one time and now it doesnt.

This was a night where WCW was looking to build Kidman as a star, he had wrestled 2 matches that night before going into the cage against the Wall. Then Kidman got pinned clean by The Wall.

I remember those days, when Hogan put Kidman over....By DQ and then Hogan acted like he was such a good guy for finally putting someone over...By DQ.

Pretty sure Hogan nearly squashed Kidman on PPV soon after (Slamboree 2000 or GAB 2000? Can't remember which one). Hogan squashing dudes who were getting over in WCW was incredibly common. He wanted to do it to Brian Pillman too but Pillman refused to be a part of it, then was in the ECW Arena soon after.

It was pretty much par for the course back then. Hogan couldn't even put Flair over and don't even get me started on how they ruined what had the potential to be one of the biggest feuds in NWA/WCW history with nWo vs. the Four Horsemen. That was money they figuratively burned away on that one. All they had to do was leave Hennig in the Horsemen and have the four of them as the four that took on the nWo. It was a license to print money. You had the outnumbered good guys defending WCW against the nWo. Flair as the icon of WCW, Hennig and Benoit as two of the very best athletes in the sport and McMichaels as the big muscle all going out there representing both WCW and the original stable: The Four Horsemen against the new big bad: The nWo.

As great as 4 Horsemen v. nWo could've been, they were dead set on Sting/Hogan for Starrcade 97. Presumably with any story in that scenario, they'd end up with Flair/Hogan at Starrcade. Sting/Hogan could've been the story that really jettisoned them into future greatness if executed well. Imagine all they had to do was have Sting beat Hogan clean. THAT IS IT. If they do that and don't continue with the constant fuckery, who knows what the wrestling industry would be like today. They had a great 1997 and even still had a great 1998 while they messed up so many things and couldn't get anything straight. Even 1999 wasn't too bad until about 1/2 way through the year, then Russo took over in the Fall, and OH MY GOD WHY IS EVERYTHING ON FIRE.

Some fella named Rufus Morgan called the new stable the League of Stations, so someone made this meme. Personally, I think it's hilarious.
